Well this was supposed to be my etsycraft contest listing, but in the words of Tori Amos I was such a "dingaling." I completely thought the deadline was for Aug. 24th, but it turns out it was Aug. 22nd. I've decided to list it anyways, although the contest is over. Maybe some kind soul will want to take her home. I'm really sad because I truly felt in my heart that I had a good chance of making it to the final 4. Now I'll never know.

The contest was to use the logo "Craft:" So at first I was thinking of making a cute caterpillar with the letters written on it. Then I moved on to thinking of making a craftster doll crocheting a banner with Craft: written on it. And finally in my final move, I thought it would be genius to combine the two: Have my doll be crocheting an amigurumi crafty caterpillar herself!

So ouila, this is how she turned out to be!

sorry to be negative towards the winners, but yours is 800,000x better than any of those. :x That is an amazing craft you have there, the ability to craft something that looks like it's/she's crafting something (the 'pillar). :D

Im sorry!! It's absolutely beautiful, with all the details. I really like the catepillar idea (it's so so cute!). You should put it in for the next contest!!

From someone who has, so far, only managed to crochet things that are square and flat...that is amazing! I like it so much better than the winners. Good luck next year?

Doing amigurumi is pretty easy to pick up! You're just crocheting in the round. You only need to know how to do an adjustable ring, work in the round, do single crochet stitches, do increasing and decreasing, and you're set! I can send you to some links.

This one's for doing adjustable ring:

Also this can be helpful too:

Starting out, I'd say you just make Amineko (he's a cat amigurumi). He's very great for beginning! I have the link to the pattern somewhere in my blog entries.

You should check out the other amis I've made ^^
